The Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme (BSCCS) is a flagship initiative by the Government of Bihar aimed at promoting higher education among students, especially those from economically weaker sections. Launched in October 2016 as a part of the Mukhyamantri Nishchay Swayam Sahayata Bhatta Yojana, this scheme provides financial support to students who wish to pursue higher education but are constrained by financial limitations.

Loan Amount: Students can avail of a loan of up to ₹4 lakh.
Interest Rate:
0% interest for female, transgender, and disabled students.
Low interest rate (simple interest) for male students.

BCA, BBA, MCA, MBA, etc.
Repayment: Repayment begins after completion of the course and a grace period (typically 1 year). Flexible repayment options are provided.
Collateral: No collateral or security is required.
Loan Usage: The loan covers tuition fees, accommodation, books, and other educational expenses.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme, a student must:
Be a resident of Bihar.
Have passed Class 12 from a recognized institution.
Be below 25 years of age (age limit may vary for some courses).
Have secured admission in a recognized institution for higher education within India.
Not be defaulter of any previous loan.
